Spanish & Sign Language
We incorporate two additional languages into our educational program – Spanish and Sign Language. Why? Research shows that early exposure to second (or third) languages provides children with multiple developmental benefits, including:
More advanced first language skills
More ease in speaking a second language later in life
Greater cognitive functioning
More advanced literacy acquisition
Greater cultural understanding
Beginning as early as our infant program, your child will be exposed to Spanish words and phrases in natural ways, and are invited to use them throughout the day.
Your child will also begin learning simple signs (signing) to express themselves. This empowers your child to communicate before developing the ability to speak.
Daily Schedule
Arrival / Free Play/ Screen Time
Hand washing /Breakfast /Child- Initiated Conversations/ Potty & Diaper Changes/ Centers /Clean-up
Circle Time & Curriculum/ Teacher-Led & Teacher initiated activates. Music & movement with instruments and props, Yoga, Deep breathing, Interactive songs & game
Infants: Tummy time / Sensory/ Music & movement/ Baby Sign Language.
Outdoor fun/ Physical Activity. Children using both large & small muscles, Children will participate in moderate and vigorous activities, Running, Playing, Communicating and engaging with other children for social skills, Blowing bubbles, Kicking balls, Exploring nature, Writing with chalk, and Balancing games
Hand washing/ Potty & Diaper Changes
Lunch / Child- Initiated Conversations/ Centers / Clean-up
Prepare for Nap / Story Time
Nap Time
Hand washing/ Snack time/ Child- Initiated Conversations/ Potty & Diaper Changes
Science/ Math / Reading or Writing Practice. Supplies are with reach of the children.
